Join us in the CMA Auditorium at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 to hear award-winning journalist, author, podcaster and Executive Director of Blue Frontier David Helvarg discuss his newest book, ‘Forest of the Sea – The Remarkable Life and Imperiled Future of Kelp’. After his talk, stop by the Gift Shop for a book signing.

Cabrillo Beach Grunion Runs are BACK! Join us on the beach at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Each grunion event includes:

• Entry to aquarium
• Timed tickets to a grunion short film
• Hatching experience
• Staff led observation of grunion

All events are closed season. No grunion may be collected. Parking lot closes at midnight.

Grand Grunion Gala 2026

Don’t miss the best beach party in town at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium! We’ll kick off the evening with craft cocktails and a silent auction at 5 p.m., followed by a gourmet dinner, program and live auction in the courtyard. Then join us for dancing under the stars!
